Momma's Day

This morning I woke to a live concert while IN BED! Pretty sure I am much loved!
This crew keeps me happy, not sure what I did to deserve all this lovin' but I know I want to be a better mother, friend, and wife when I spend time with them!
Not sure where to start with this breakfast! My honey wanted to make sure there was plenty of variety, and as always he fulfilled every need!
There is no question that this was my favorite Mother's Day. The best part are the precious words from my babies. One was a cute reminder of a Mother's Day from a few years ago. Lauren made a darling comic strip for me and Ash posted it with a sweet note.
From Ashley:
"As we (my sister and I) were going through old family photos, my sister discovered this wonderful comic strip she made in middle school in honor of our "Super-Mom." Even at a young age, she was perceptive and knew that our mother is truly a super hero. I don't think I ever realized how incredible my mom is until I left off to college. Between washing the cinnamon sugar off my face after eating a pretzel, to bandaging up my wounds, to cuddling me after watching a scary movie (yes, these have all occurred within the last few days) and now helping me plan my wedding. My mother has taught me the true meaning of loving unconditionally. I am eternally thankful that God placed her in my life, not only to be my mother but also to be my best friend! I love you mom!
Now let's chuckle over this lovely drawing
#mothersday #love #blessings #happiness #supermom"
Another treasured post came from my Britton (I also loved being featured in one of his famous Instagram photos!):
"My mother is the funniest, happiest, loveliest, smartest, coolest lady I know. She is always showing her love toward me. One of the best lessons I have ever learned from my mother is to grow my knowledge continuously. She has influenced me to get an education that will create a successful future. I believe that knowledge is one of the most important pieces to my life. Thank you for everything mom! Happy Mother's Day!
My children are the treasure I hold closest to my heart. Being a Mother has been my greatest joy and blessing and no other job or career will ever replace the moments I have spent nurturing these children of my Heavenly Father.

Today was a beautiful day to enjoy the beauty of our Savior and the blessing that #becauseofHim we are able to have our family together forever. This Easter Sunday feels a bit different mainly because we have spent so much time over the last year focusing on our Savior, his love for us, and the blessings of the atonement. Each and every day through prayer and meditation we try to acknowledge our Savior and look to Him. The hand of God is so present in every single aspect of our existence that it has felt like Easter for more than just this day of celebration.
Lauren and Ashley had some fun taking pics of the new engagement ring. Such a perfect ring for our princess!
The Easter bounty will be hard to resist come Monday Morn!

Church in Comfy Clothes

Saturday Conference started with Carmel-Apple Cinnamon Rolls and lots of note taking. It was a wonderfully relaxing day to snuggle in and enjoy the words prepared just for us and delivered by our Heavenly Father's earthy messengers. The evening included the Hemmert men going to Priesthood while Lauren and I had a Mommy-Daughter date at Olive Garden. We all then got to meet for a late night movie of Captain America! Now that is almost a perfect day!

Getting to enjoy church in my living room on Sunday made for a nearly perfect weekend! Dwight laughed when I stated, "General Conference, going to church without a bra since 1994!"
Comfy clothes, Conference Cake, and Card House building while listening to our Prophet! Now that is Sabbath day worship at it's finest, folks! :)
"As we arise each morning, let us determine to respond with love and kindness to whatever might come our way."

"Perhaps you will forget tomorrow the kind words you say today, but the recipient may cherish them over a lifetime."

"Never stifle a compassionate impulse."

"Opportunities to show our love come unexpectedly." BE PREPARED TO ACT

"Develop the ability to recognize other's needs and respond."

"Gratitude is a catalyst to all Christlike attributes."

"Is the load I am carrying creating sufficient spiritual traction?"

"The miracle of the Atonement can make up for imperfections in our performance."

"Our Father knows us and hears the pleadings of our hearts. He accomplishes His miracles one prayer at a time."

Must have been a peaceful conference! :)

Eagle Crest-Spring Break 2014

Five Days in Eagle Crest completed our 2014 Spring Break!!!
This picture below captures the entire trip! There is never a shortage of laughter and magic!
Eagle Crest is famous for it's 300 days of sun per year, so outdoor activities abound! We enjoyed hiking, biking, tennis, swimming, and lots of movies!

Cline Falls
Tammy got to be the eager pupil of a Hemmert Geological Study Session! I have been the eager pupil of Dwight's own father many hikes in Star Valley! Like Daddy, Like Son!

Pilot Butte
On the suggestion of friends we decided to drive to the top of Pilot Butte in Bend, Oregon. The road was closed so instead we took the walking path to the top. It is called "the stair stepper" of Bend. It is a crazy climb to the top and they kids were thrilled when the got to the top. Below is the only picture we got! If you are looking for a great workout, this is the hike for you!

Smith Rock
We have done this hike before and love it every single time. I made a previous post about this hike, so feel free to link to it! All the pictures below are from our fellow Instagram photographer, @great_britton17. This kid amazes me with his talent…although the first picture he was chastised a bit. Scares a momma to see this picture of him launching off a mountain!
Where will be our next Adventure???

Smith Rock

Today we enjoyed a hike at one of the the Seven Wonder's of Oregon at Smith Rock. We hiked the entire length of Misery Ridge Trail and determined that it is properly named!!! Yikes, this is not a hike for the faint of heart, or the weak in knees! We have done this hike in previous years and both Dwight and I felt our age this year! ;)
The above picture is of the infamous Monkey Face Rock and if you look close you can see rock climbers! Someday….that will be me!
We also decided to let Heidi and Rob know that we are claiming Lyndsey on our taxes this year! We love having her join us!
Above is a closer view of Monkey Face Rock. We see a baboon face, but others see other versions of a monkey face. Below is all of us discussing all the different versions each person believes is the "real monkey face." It is interesting how everyone see's a different version of things….:)
These people are living my dream world. This year I am absolutely coming back to do a climbing tour!
Britton and I found this hollow rock and this is the only rock climbing we enjoyed.

Summa Cum Laude, Baby!

I say "we," because without my family and friends,
this dream of mine would never have become reality!

This bachelors degree wasn't just done part way,
I DID IT SUMMA CUM LAUDA, BABY!!! My goal of graduating with highest honors has been worth all the work!
Crossing this stage was such a surreal experience, but having family and friends cheering me across gave me incredible joy. All weekend Dwight surprised me with new people knocking at my door. Family travelled from all over to come support me and I have to say that I have the very best when it comes to loving family members! I can't ever fully express my gratitude!

I love this last picture because some of my favorite peeps are in it, and also because Dwight was using Robert's head as a tripod! Great day-Great day!!!
